Who We Are

Alice Porter

Alice Porter

Hello, my name is Alice! I am a clinical therapist at Athena Women’s Health. I joined the AWH team because of a shared passion for empowering women through trauma-informed mental health care. I strive to provide compassionate, woman-centered therapy designed to support, educate, and uplift women on their path to healing.

I specialize in working with women navigating complex emotional and psychological challenges that are unique to a woman centered experience. This includes prepartum and postpartum anxiety, depression, and mood disorders, infertility, birth trauma, interpersonal relationship violence, narcissistic abuse recovery, body image issues, and divorce. I also work closely with women experiencing anxiety, depression, Obsessive-compulsive disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder and more!

I understand the vulnerability it takes to share your story, and I strive to create a safe, affirming space where women feel truly heard and supported. My holistic approach to therapy recognizes the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit—because true healing comes from nurturing all aspects of your well-being.

Together, we’ll work to build resilience, restore balance, and help you move forward with strength and confidence.

In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, two cats, and dog. I love spending time in nature whether it be going for walks at the park or adventuring on a long hike in the Appalachian Mountains. I can also be found tackling a home improvement project, cooking new recipes, and watching a good Rom-Com movie! `

“I have always worked in places where I have a passion for what they do, and what better way to do that than to work at a Clinic that’s sole focus is on Women and women struggles. As a mom of 2 teenagers, I have personally experienced a lot of struggles that women deal with in today’s society. I would like to see Athena become THE place in Lexington to women to come to as a safe space.
